The Artist

Goldmax, whose real name is Mthokozisi Mahlangu, is a South African musician best known as a member of the Durban-based Gqom group, Distruction Boyz. Gqom is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in Durban, South Africa, known for its minimalist beats, syncopated rhythms, and infectious energy. Distruction Boyz, formed by Goldmax and his childhood friend Zipho “Que” Mthembu, gained widespread recognition with their breakthrough single “Omunye” in 2017. The song became a massive hit both locally and internationally, propelling Distruction Boyz to the forefront of the Gqom scene.
